Spring Has Sprung!

Spring is finally here! There are more and more buds on the trees, tiny eggs are in nests, little baby animals will be born and beautiful flowers are on the way. You can actually see – and hear! – a new season unfolding everywhere. Go outside in the morning and listen to all the happy songs the birds are singing, some of them back from a long migration of hundreds of miles!

We may not realize that spring actually begins long before this turning point called the Spring Equinox, when for a brief moment, the sun is exactly above the Equator and day and night are equal in length. Many miraculous events have been taking place, like bears and other animals waking up from hibernation, or certain species of frogs that actually freeze over the winter! They survive because they’re preserved by “antifreeze” – a high concentration of glucose around their vital organs that allows them to thaw and live again.

I’m SO thankful for spring. It’s a season FULL of God’s goodness on display. After a long winter, it can seem like it may never come, but we can be sure it will every year. It reminds us that when we go through trials there will be better days. When we think all is lost, hope is still alive because of who God is. In spring we can actually experience His faithfulness and unfailing promises firsthand and it brings us joy! He sends this message to everyone, even those who don’t believe He exists – to show us He does!

• If you’ve been hibernating, wake up to a fresh start. Now’s your time!

• If you’ve been waiting for your chance to finally bloom, keep growing!

• If you need a transformation, remember caterpillars are turning into butterflies too!

The most amazing rebirth of all is the new beginning Jesus offers us. In II Corinthians 5:17 (NIV) we read:

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: the old has gone, the new is here!”

Maybe you’ve been thinking about your relationship with God, like the changes that happen before spring to prepare for new things to come to life. This new season is the perfect time to pray and ask Him to forgive your sins and dedicate your life to following Him. He will. Not only does He give you life for a season, He promises to give you eternal life!

RESET HIGHER: How can you “spring forward”? Open the windows again and feel a fresh breeze of positive change and opportunities coming in with your senses and your heart. Get outside of the place you’ve been this winter and find more amazing life waiting for you – today and every day.
