RESET HIGHER: We’ve all seen a beautiful rainbow in the sky, sometimes even a double one! It’s suspended between the heavens and the earth, not created by special effects or human beings. It always comes after the rain is over, faithfully fulfilling one purpose: to display evidence of the covenant made by God that He would never again send a flood upon the earth in judgement as He did in the days of Noah. Genesis 9:12 (NIV) says this:
“And God said, ‘This is the sign of the covenant I am making between me and you, and every living creature with you, a covenant for all generations to come.’”
The rainbow isn’t a random, accidental spectrum of seven colors arching over the earth. It’s designed by God as a sign from Him to get our attention and remind us that He will always keep His promises.
